Book Sale Leads to Discovery of Sasquatch in Switzerland

Following a customer's purchase of David Paulides' fine, recent book, "The Hoopa Project: Bigfoot Encounters in California" (review coming soon!), BIGFOOT BOOKS discovered that there IS a sort of Bigfoot activity in Switzerland. The interesting German language-based blog Sasquat.ch - Sasquatch, Bigfoot und Kryptozoologie, http://www.heuvelmans.blogspot.com/, posted statements made by the proprietor of the store. Hence we now have proof that Sasquatch is still active on all the continents of the globe, save perhaps Antarctica.

We QUOTE:

'"Das Ding ist noch immer da"
Willow Creek bleibt Bigfoot-Hotspot

"Here at the shop I hear about BF activity all the time, and yes, it is quite frequently very convincing. There's a regular crowd of researchers and BF hunters who keep me abreast of their current exploits; and once in a while I join them up on Bluff Creek. Suffice it to say, the thing has not gone away, despite what one hears in the media and all the sorry hoaxes."

Need a translation? Roughly, according to Google:

"The thing is still there Especially when I ordered Steven Streufert, a bookseller in California.
Willow Creek, das Buch "The Hoopa Project" von David Paulides. Willow Creek is regarded as the home town of Bigfoot: In the 50 years it has started the hype, 1967 trotted a few miles away have no perceived Bigfoot front of the lens by Roger Patterson, and until today, from the vicinity of the Kaffs sightings reported. That's why I asked Streufert how the situation currently is.... He constantly hears of bigfoot sightings, and some of the stories were very convincing, Streufert says. He will of the Bigfoot-hunters to be kept, he sometimes accompany them up to Bluff Creek (where the Patterson film was made). "The thing is still there," he concludes.

The Church of Bigfoot, Scientist

HAIL RUGARU!!!

Back in the end times of the last century a church was born. In the spirit of Sasquatch, the acolytes were anarchistic advocates of The Wild. During the brief few years before they disintegrated back into their dens, the Church was known to howl in the woods at night and to hang posters bearing the holy image and Word of Bigfoot's Revolutionary Message on telephone poles around Arcata. This website may be the last remains of the Church; though some have said that some of the rock throwing and wood knocking often experienced around Humboldt County is being done by these crazy wildmen.

Ape Canyon by Jon Olsen, brief film review; plus Zombies of Eureka Update

Some months ago Humboldt County filmmaker Jon Olsen visited Bigfoot Books. He is the maker of the fabulously silly b-movie, APE CANYON, about love, sex and death in the Wild. The film is highly amusing; but serious researchers of Bigfoot might want to take my brief review of his film, below, with a grain of salt lick.

Bigfoot: North America's Greatest Lover!, March 31, 2008

This is a work of pure comic genius. It is backed by extensive research into the more extreme aspects of the Sasquatch in popular culture, substantiated by Native American lore centuries old. Yes, there is a history of inter-species hominid communality. The soundtrack music constitutes a masterfully applied parody, moving from love-comedy, through pornography, to tragedy. Though made on an obviously low budget, that is part of the point--this film is a satire of human romantic motivation as much as it is of the b-movie bigfoot monster genre. If you meet the filmmaker he will probably give you a promotional t-shirt, which is even cooler than the film. Its climactic ending made me weep.

UPDATE!!! (Feb. 24, 2010)
There's more to Humboldt County than Bigfoot and marijuana. In ZOMBIES OF EUREKA Jon Olsen searches for another cryptid "life" form. View this suite of zombie-themed music videos he did for local area alternative bands here:
