NEWS FLASH: Willow Creek's BIGFOOT DAYS, 2010. "Bigfoot's Nifty Fifty" Anniversary

This weekend...

Willow Creek's BIGFOOT DAYS
will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this Labor Day weekend. The theme this year is
“Bigfoot's Nifty Fifty: 50 Years of Bigfoot.”
That makes Bigfoot Days nearly as old as the 1958 Jerry Crew footprint cast newspaper article that made Bluff Creek, Willow Creek, and BIGFOOT world famous. The parade starts in the morning a bit after 10:00, and then the festivities move down to Veterans' Park for the afternoon, with vendor booths, music, food, and sometimes even Al Hodgson.

Read a brief article from the Tri-City Weekly:

Bigfoot Days Festivities Mark 50 Years in Willow Creek

They are adding a bunch of new activities this year, though perhaps not more Bigfoot stuff. Word has it there is going to be a firemen's muster and competition, just like in the old days before insurance liability problems.

We quote: "There will be lawn mower races, water slides, water balloon fights, a horseshoe contest, a logging competition and an obstacle course. A dance at Veteran's hall will end Saturday's festivities. Sunday morning, a disc golf tournament will take place at Creekside Park. For more information about Bigfoot Days, contact Trina Cardoza at (530) 625-4208 ext. 481."

Visit the WILLOW CREEK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE for more information on visiting Willow Creek. READ MORE HERE.

Your loyal BIGFOOT'S BLOG reporter will be there, camera batteries permitting, documenting the event just for you.

ANGRY HU-MAN SPEAKS!!!

OK, I am that Angry Human. Sorry. I just can't write on this stupid Bigfoot stuff anymore. There is too much vile gossip, competition and pettiness, too much violent ignorant slander, too much supposition and dogma. I will say one thing, though. Last time I said something about the "reward" in all of this. Well, there is ONE thing that I really have gotten out of this. It is getting to know some very, very cool people, all across the country. I know that the vast majority of people who are into the Bigfoot thing are super cool, very smart, excellent individuals. THANK YOU for that!!!! I just wish the bad apples out there didn't spoil the fun of it. OK, me have my say. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Me back to woods. See ya.

BIGFOOT DAYS 2009 Update. CRYPTOMUNDO Joins the 2010 50th Anniversary Cause. More Photos

Cryptomundo.com (link in their logo, below) has joined the battle for Bigfoot in Bigfoot Days, 2010. Our blog was blogged again on the site, view the entry here: http://www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/bf-days-2010/
On his notable cryptozoological blog website Loren Coleman has publicly offered to be a speaker for the 50th Anniversary of Bigfoot Days in Willow Creek... for the mere price of his plane ticket out here and a room in the Bigfoot Motel. Maybe we'll have to get the Committee to hold a bake sale? Or collect aluminum cans? Raffle off a Bigfoot cage? The event's coffers are not exactly brimming over with gold these days. What Cryptomundo said: "I often have been amazed with the success of the little town of Roswell, which can have 1.25 million visitors per year tour their little museum. Meanwhile, Willow Creek, with their Bigfoot museum, struggles to get any media attention." A good point, one that only BIGFOOT can answer. Bigfoot Days is a great celebration of the local Willow Creek community, that is its main purpose; but it could be so much more, and can do more good for this little town.

[Images: Two Bigfoots look on at the event, grumbling and scowling a little. "Is this thing about ME, or just Indian Tacos and POW flags?"]

We'll say it again. Any of you out there in the bigfooting world who might like to come and speak, set up a bigfoot table for merchandise and information (they only cost $25.00, so if you have a book to sell or organization to promote...), or just attend--do contact us, or the folks listed at the end of this blog entry. I'll assemble an information email list to keep you bigfooters posted as to any progress.
Of course, it all depends greatly upon the openness and cooperation of the Bigfoot Days Committee. If we can get them on board (just had a good talk with one of them today!) it may be possible to speak from the main stage later in the day, after the bands, or else to get the VFW folks to "donate" the use of their hall (this is where the 2007 40th Anniversary event was held to celebrate the Patterson-Gimlin Film).
If we can help in any way with your travel plans, as well, we'd be pleased to assist.

Now, here are some more photos from the event....

It didn't rain on this parade, but lo, it started sprinkling some right after it ended!

Unofficial "mayor" of the hamlet, Steve Paine, officiates again.

The folks from Sentinel Winery, makers of Bigfoot Red Wine, appeared with their little dogs and tractor.

Groovin' in the park: hippies, Elvis impersonator, and Ras-tafari vibes, mon!

Here are a few other contact addresses that one could use for a lobbying campaign and comments:

*******
Friday Night of BIGFOOT DAYS me see me hu-man friend, Steve. He in phone booth in alley behind pool hall bar. He think there still phone in phone booth, and he say he also think he can talk to ghost of hu-man name Roger Patterson in there. Hu-mans very strange!
Decommissioned phone booth once in the spot in front of Al Hodgson's old
Variety Store, now a  pool hall, across the street from the Chevron station.
It was on this spot, if not in the very same phone booth (this one seems to
be from the 1980s or so) that Roger Patterson called Al to announce that he
had just "filmed one of them sumbucks" up in Bluff Creek, Oct. 20, 1967.
Spot now occupied by a bulletin board kiosk, where
once stood the phone booth used by Roger Patterson
when calling Al Hodgson about the filming of Bigfoot.
Visiting researcher Travis McHenry at the booth.
Me also see a band at Forks Lounge Friday that have son of JFK Assassination and Watergate spy guy E. Howard Hunt. Son name Saint John Hunt. Band name is Saint John and the Sinners. They pretty good. Him web site I found is this: http://www.saintjohnhunt.com/
Saint John and the Sinners playing a fine cover of "Low Rider."
A cryptic note slipped under the door one morning at Bigfoot Books.
What does it mean???

ANGRY HU-MAN SPEAKS!!

There has been lots and lots of BLUFF CREEK FILM SITE PROJECT news lately, folks, and it is coming your way soon. I'm still Angry Hu-Man, but yes, I will be back with more. First I've got to kick that big, smelly ape-man out of my bookstore, and probably buy myself a new keyboard after all the food, drool, and beer he has spilled on it.
