Has anyone had an experience with this? Could you give a description of what
you smelled?
I've heard of it a few times, one interview the fellow said they use it trying to
round up the young ones.
A week ago I was driving on the highway next to town, and ran into a very
strong smell, that was like a dirty urinal with a lilac urinal cake in it.
Now this highway borders a state park for 4 miles to the north, and there
has been two sightings along it, one at the south side of town, and another
15 miles south of town.
I was on an entrance ramp next to a thick evergreen patch of woods with
a fishing pond next to the woods, when I ran into this smell.

I have heard of others that have said they smelt something sweet. I've had it happen once but can't say it wasn't something sweet, flowers, etc. that the wind brought in.

I have smelled this from the water once recently after the flood in June. I was not able launch on the Neches where I normally do (just West and South of Evadale, TX) and put in down the road. All the bottoms were flooded to the point where I was in the woods normally where you can walk. I was close to an old deer lease and was hurrying because of a massive hornets nest above me. I thought it had something to do with that and didn't pay it much mind at the time. It did strike me as strange later as the entire area was under 5' of water. The nest was 30' up an oak tree so at the time I heard the buzzing and realized what I heard then smelled that urine/floral smell however, it was a urine with a little floral that doesn't smell good. I got lost that day in the bottoms with no gps...hate to admit it but never found the river and stuck in the thick brush with me and the yak covered in banana spiders. So, didn't pay attention to anything else that day. Tried to keep these bad boys off my face and noggin. Not one of my better days as I was in the brush for maybe an hour and a half.

Exactly, it doesn't smell good.
I now see that piece of land I was near has had the brush cleared from under the evergreens, and a for sale sign
has been posted.

Hey Yankeesearch, didn’t even know you were in chat, now you have the bug so bad you will have to keep going out to see another one. :)

Anyway, as I stand before God, I did not make this up!

Not saying it was Sq/BF/DM/Yeti... but it was strange. And I am locking my doors tonight for sure!

And just I was turning away, I thought I heard snort -- which could have been deer or maybe cattle... but... I do not know.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:53 am »
I did not have the creepy feeling I normally get in these situations... so I really do not know what to make of it.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:53 am »
One detail I forgot to mention: the whoop had almost a human like talk after it on both occasions.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:52 am »
I walked back to the other side, and thought I heard a knock...
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:51 am »
Cattle about 1/8th mile away disappeared... and strangely at that location: it sounded like something banged the metal fence. Not loud... but never ever heard it before tonight.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:50 am »
Two whoops... and some deer scattering (they may have been scattering because of me).
