WY PARK 1978 TR96 BFRO* May, 1978, about 30 minutes east of the East Gate to Yellowstone NP, on the road from Cody to Yellowstone, WY. At 1:45 AM, clear, cool, calm and dark night, headlights the only light. Dense forest on both sides. Two in car, geologists, came around curve at 40 mph, and high beams lit up a large, dark, shaggy creature coming out of ditch on south of road 200-250 feet away. Creature first looked at car, eyes reflecting yellow, then turned head away from lights, the shoulders, chest, and head moving simultaneously. They braked, stunned, and the 7-7.5 foot creature, 600-800#, stood upright, came out of the ditch at the edge of the metal barrier above a culvert, took three very long and fluid strides across the 22 foot wide roadway, and three-four shorter steps down the other side of the road, catching hold of the metal railing with a long fingered hairy hand, and swung down under the road into a box culvert and out of sight. Witnesses stopped within 25 feet and watched the final descent of creature into darkness. They sped on toward the East Gate, but there was nobody there to report the sighting to. Head merged into neck with no snout, face not clearly visible but nostrils large and open, long hair covering it. Buttocks muscular masses moving under heavy shaggy hair, longer than human powerful thighs, big knees, thick calves and feet in proportion to the rest of the oversized body. Soles were hairless and very dark. Arms heavily muscled, longer than human, reaching to the knees, were covered with the same long shaggy dark brown hair. Elbows further down than on human, hands large with long fingers.

WYOMING 1997 TR#69 * Scott McNabb reports on the Internet that July 24th, Amy Zumwatt and son had a sighting at the east entrance into Yellowstone Park, coming from Cody. At a road construction site, high on the mountainside near a snow patch was an 8-9 foot tall hairy Bigfoot. The thing took three strides across a rocky terrain and stopped. He son commented it looked and walked like Chewbaca, the Star Wars actor. Due to the work area and flagman, they couldn’t stop.

TR74 WY 1997 TR#74 * The Nov. 2, 1997 report was posted to the Internet by Ron Schaffner, and the witness was cutting firewood with his brother half-way between Cody and Yellowstone, near the north bank of the North Fork of the Shoshone River, near Yellowstone Park’s Eastgate, Wyoming. At dusk, the witness noticed movement on the slope across the river. His brother, after looking, handed him the binoculars. The creature was 1/4 mile away and moving toward the river, walking on two legs. Between 6 and 10 feet tall, the massive dark hair -covered creature seemed fat, maybe obese. He watched it walk for a good 100 yards. Later, as they were leaving, it was dark, and there was a high pitched eerie squealing noise coming from up-river.

TR33* Bill Green (New England Bigfoot Info Research center, 21 Benham St, Apt F, Bristol, Conn. 06010) sent in the winter 1993 issue of Farout, that had several previously unrecorded sightings listed. The article, "A park Ranger's Lifelong Bigfoot Quest," Richard D. Seifried, A friend told subject about being in a USFS survey crew in the Jim Bridger Wilderness Area, Wyoming, many years ago. Around evening campfire, high-pitched cries were heard. One man went with a .22 on the next morning and was not found until a search party was sent out. They found the gun bent into a U shape on the trail, and the body of the man in a deep canyon at the base of a cliff.

WY, * Went to visit Peter Byrne to say good-bye prior to his 2/15 departure for Nepal; where he'll be involved in an engineering project to erect a dam; preventing water from draining from a dying lake where wildlife is suffering. He's due back in mid-March. During the course of conversation Peter mentioned a Bigfoot killing. Seems two hunters from Ohio went to a spot near Jackson Hole; Wyoming; in 1965; and were road-hunting...shooting from the window of their car window. They saw a coyote and shot it; but did not kill the animal. Following it over a small embankment; they encountered a Bigfoot; and promptly shot it in the chest with a 30-.06. The Bigfoot fell over on its back; and lay there quivering; its fingers opening and closing; and the eyes opening and closing. On closer investigation; they noticed the thing looked human; and were sure they had shot some farmers handicapped child; and fearing a police charge...they got back into their car and headed back to Ohio. It was seven years before they told anybody; and then the story spread. Peter tracked the story back to its source; returned to the area with one of the men and spent a week in 1972 searching for bones and teeth with Patry Hull as an assistant.
