I received the photo last night...
The person contacted me because he says it is the same species as the creature in the B7C photo and they may want to use the B7C photo in the documentary. He said I have permission to talk about the photo he sent, just cannot show it at this time.
It was shot in Oct 2007, just after breakfast. Here is a description of it.
The ground is snow covered, looks like several feet of snow. The photo looks like a typical forest scene in snow. Hardwood tree trunks and a few evergreens, looks like the sky may be overcast, but there is plenty of contrast and light because of the snow.
Brush is not too thick, can see clearly probably 100 feet in most directions before the trees gets thick.
There is what looks to be a large root system sticking up out of ground, in the middle of the photo, looks like a large tree fell over and the roots are exposed. Seems to be plenty of context to get an estimated height of the root. He said the subject was kneeling at the roots of the tree when he first saw it. Then it rose and headed off into the woods.
There is something clearly standing next to the root, the right of it. The snow is behind it. It is staring right at the photographer. You can see long flowing grayish hair everywhere. The whole body is covered with it. You can see the whole body, except for the bottom of the feet which are in the snow.
It is eerie, it almost looks like a man in a long fur coat, you can see the right arm/hand lifted from the side of the body just a bit. The left arm is lifted horizontally in front of it, blended with the front of the body. You can see eyes which seem sunken, and the shape of it's head. The body is light gray with the snow behind it. Cannot see facial features, there seems to be hair flowing downward where it's nose or snout would be.
The photographer says that they have a total of 11 photos, and 2:35 minutes of HD video that his partner shot of it. The camera was taking about 3 seconds to reset between shots. I have only seen one photo, and he said he sent me the worst one.
I have looked in the general region where he says it was taken. Seems to be very very remote. It was in Quebec, near the border with Ontario.
Quebec is 594,860 square miles.
It is located in the eastern part of Canada, and is the largest province in Canada.
Alaska 656425 square miles
Quebec 594,860 square miles
Texas 268601 square miles
California 163707 square miles
Quebec is in purple (2).
