Reported by Confidential
RECEIVED FROM: G.C.B.R.O. Web Site Submission Form
DATE: 06/24/02

TIME: Various Times

LOCATION: Fort Simpson NWT Canada

TERRAIN: Rocky Terrain

OBSERVED: We saw tracks that were moose so we went up the bank of the creek
and started following the tracks we followed it for about an hour when we
decide to call for the moose. We called a couple of times when we heard a
large grunt followed by a deep growl. Thinking it was a bear we kept trying
to call the moose. We called for about a half an hour before we gave up and
ended up walking back to the boat. We got back but realized that we were off
our trail and far away from the boat. we started walking along the bank of
the creek when we saw the moose on the other side of the creek. We stopped
and shot the moose. We went to skin it and johnny said if the moose was on
this side then what made those noises.

I said that it must haven been a bear. It started getting dark but we
started to skin the moose. Later that night we were still skinning the moose
and loading into the jetboat when we started hearing the noises again. This
time followed by breaking bushes and snorts into the air (like something was
smelling something they liked). We were a little scared so we got the rifles
ready. We made our fire bigger and started making a lot of noise and then
the noises stopped. We finished skinning the moose and then finished loading
the moose. By this time we were just about to leave when I had realized we
forgot to cut off the rack. The sun was coming up and we heard the noises
from were the moose was. We thought it was a bear so we grabbed the guns and
ran towards it. When we had got there, there was big foot. He was squating
while picking off pieces of meat of the remander of carcase. Right then a
swear I almost sh*t my pants. He stood up and he must have been 8 feet
tall. He picked up the head and most of the other remaining things and walked away.
Quickly we had ran and got the camera but by the time we got back it was
gone.

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS(ES): We were calling a moose and hunting.

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE: 8 feet tall, really wide, hairy, black bottomless eyes,, No but other people that fish their say that they have seen and heard things too.

OTHER NOTES: Two sets of big foot prints. One was about sixteen inches and the
other was about twelve inches.

Hey Yankeesearch, didn’t even know you were in chat, now you have the bug so bad you will have to keep going out to see another one. :)

Anyway, as I stand before God, I did not make this up!
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:55 am »
Not saying it was Sq/BF/DM/Yeti... but it was strange. And I am locking my doors tonight for sure!
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:54 am »
And just I was turning away, I thought I heard snort -- which could have been deer or maybe cattle... but... I do not know.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:53 am »
I did not have the creepy feeling I normally get in these situations... so I really do not know what to make of it.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:53 am »
One detail I forgot to mention: the whoop had almost a human like talk after it on both occasions.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:52 am »
I walked back to the other side, and thought I heard a knock...
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:51 am »
Cattle about 1/8th mile away disappeared... and strangely at that location: it sounded like something banged the metal fence. Not loud... but never ever heard it before tonight.
@ yankeesearch « Tue 12:50 am »
Two whoops... and some deer scattering (they may have been scattering because of me).
