*What type of Occurrence did you have? = Physical Sighting

*Please tell us what happened (as much detail as you can remember) = We were

out ona hot day on the North Saskatchewan river in the last days of school, my

boyfriend is a schoolteacher and he came home stressed and wanted to get me out

of the house and planned to go for  picnic at our favorite get away on the bank

of the river, a secluded area, so he could mark exams. Well we got there and as

I walked to the side of the river it had risen very high, [name removed] said be very

careful the river is dangerous and fast today, I noticed a splash of water and

thought nothing of it but the water was over the banks the day before and it had

covered mud over some of the flat rock that was picked weeks before with a

smelly clay, very slippery, well we decided to leave the area because of the

misquitos attacking us, we loaded our rocks and decided to go across to the

lower bank where we could eat in the sun and get out from the heavily wooded

area, as we were about to cross the bridge we watched a harley blast by and we

slowly drove across the bridge looking at the beauty of the river we drove over

to the side road and watched a two-three old black cub eating garbage or

something and it ran off, we both said we'll have to watch for the mother if it

is still around,  while we are eating. We parked the van and drove in reverse to

park near the bank, opened the hatch and starting bringing out our chairs and

picnic basket, I decided to wash my smelly hands, again Adrian told me be

careful it's slippery, no sooner than that said I fell in soaking wet and full

of mudd, i yelled and he pulled me out thank god for long hair and and a extra

tshirt I brought along, I would of been in great danger if I was alone for a few

seconds, within minutes of this I got out of the water, changed my tshirt, put

on my soaked runners and readjusted my hat I ate nervously and I kept thinking

about the mother bear. [name removed] laughed at me and said well we leave real soon

I'll mark the exams at home. With that said I was going to grab a lotion of

"OFF", or sunscreen. I was on the drivers side of the door, facing the bridge, I

noticed on the far side of the other side of the river a huge brown figure in

the water, walking about 6-8 feet from the bank walking with it's chest sticking

out of the water, not making any noise, no splashing just walking with the

current, it walked for about 50 feet and started going towards the middle, you

could see it very clearly, [name removed] was sitting in his chair I said to him come

here and I pointed out to the river look between the pillars see that, I said

it's not a bear, it's not a moose, that's f****ing sasquatch, just then we

watched it approach the middle of the river it walked up to the pillars it

sighted us or our red van, what scared us both it's speed and it's agressiveness

in the water, it was almost like it was in fast forward motion, we were both in

awe and tried to really focus on what it was going to do, it stopped- it's under

the bridge, it seen us now what, just then it peered it's head out from the

pillar, we both stood back and we were very afraid it was looking at us, there

was on coming traffic on the bridge, a rancher pulling a horse trailer, and a

semi drove by, you could see if did not know what to do it, suddenly it walked

straight across a pillars length width of the river would be a football field

-The pillars have to be 100-150 feet apart, this figure walked across in the

direction to the next pillar, more traffic, so it decided to back the direction

it came from, we were straining our eyes we thought it would hide or been out of

sight, I could not even blink, [name removed] said [name removed] it's going to get out of the water, it approached a bank it was a little taller than the bank when it stood

there, a passer by slammed on it's brakes and drove in reverse the figure

happened to just look straight up at the bridge and then it looked right back at

us, and in one leap it, one motion it was out of the water and into the trees in

seconds, we thought the people in the truck would come and talk to us at the

bank, but we are not sure if they even seen us there....

05 - Weather Conditions (if remembered) = Clear, hot sunny

06 - Is there anything else that you can remember? = The colour very brown,

blackened spots on the face, very huge it must of been 10-12 ft tall.

Did not like its speed in the water it was very misleading.

It's butt when it got out of the water, covered in hair but you could see the

skin outline-human like.

It's strength and curiousity under the bridge as it looked at us, it put it's in

face in the air like it was trying to smell us.

*What type of Occurrence did you have? = Vocalizations Heard

*Please tell us what happened (as much detail as you can remember) = My

friend  and I decided to take his 24 foot bayliner boat on a last cruise of

the season trip on the Shushwap lakes in BC while we both had some time off.

after baoting for most of the day we decided to pull into Cinnemousun Narrows

Provincial park, the area was completely deserted as it was off season, the park

is almost impossible to reach by land because of its isolation. We docked the

boat and set up camp and began gathering firewood, but because it was damp this

proved to be very difficult so I resorted to chopping off bark from the numerous

dead falls with my very dull hatchet, after several hours of knocking on the

dead wood i succeeded in gathering enough wood for a half decent fire, we

prepared supper as darkness fell and were enjoying the numerous stars. we

decided to pack up the dishes and food and haul them down to the boat as we were

concerned about bears as we dropped the first load off in the boat we heard an

extremely loud howl/vocalization about 100 feet away in the dense forest

directed at us. it was deep prelonged and somewhat menacing. here is our

conversation verbatim while we were cowering in the boat;

[name removed]: what the hell was that???

[name removed]: Jesus I don't know...I'm not sure

[name removed]: hell, you're the animal guy

[name removed]: well it's not an Elk moose cougar wolf coyote or bear, i've never heard

anything like that, ever! maybe it's an owl???

(second vocalization seemingly closer)

[name removed]: that's a pretty big owl!!!

[name removed]: err, um I don't know what it is but it does sound pretty big

[name removed]: yeah well owls don't sound like that

[name removed]:yeah er, I know... what are we going to do about the stuff at the

campsite? we can't leave it there do you want to try to  go back?

[name removed]: yeah but gimmie the flashlight and the hatchet.

We slowly and cautiously went back to the campsite, the whole time keeping our

eyes on the area where the sound came from, the whole time i felt like i was

bieng watched and the whole time the hair on the back of my neck was standing

up.

when we got to the campsite our coleman lamp was still illuminating the area

well but we cranked it up all the way and gathered the stuff [name removed] immediatly

said, "what's that smell?" i was still a little stuffed up from the campfire so

(i didn't immediatly smell anything until i cleareed my nose) [name removed] said "it

stinks like wet animal or something its really strong!" as my nose cleared sure

enough there was a stench of wet dog or animal smell hanging in the air mixed

maybe with a fecal matter type smell it was very odd and quite pungent. By this

time i no longer felt safe and since it was to dark to move the boat we decided

the only thing that we could do was to try to scare what ever it was away, i

took out an array of fireworks starting with an airbomb and detonated it, what

ever it was crashed away into the night. although all night I kept waking up at

very sound and did not enjoy a fitful sleep at all.

04 - Date = October 13 2004

05 - Weather Conditions (if remembered) = clear scattered showers

06 - Is there anything else that you can remember? = after the experience i went

to the BFRO site and listened to the calls there it sounded very much like two

of the calls on that site. After listening to the calls I became convinced that

we had been visited by a sasquatch.

I am an experienced naturalist I have grown up studying nature and have spent

countless hours outdoors photgraphing wildlife, hiking and treking, my brother

is a DR of Ornithology and we spent years banding birds and doing conservation

work, in all these years I have never heard vocalizations like the ones i heard

that night, they were deep and gutteral, it was so clear i could even hear the

vocal cords creating the sound in the chest... it was odd, very ape or monkey

like in the way that the sounds were created and i sincerely believe that in

order to create the sound a huge lung capacity would be needed to create and

sustain the volumne that was generated.

In retrospect I am convinced that my chopping with the hatchet may have

attracted it to the area as i did it for several hours and it resonated

throughout the forest. the next day we checked the area where the sound seemed

to emulate from and found the approx. position on a trail, where a huge area of

moss had been recently dug up and disturbed, no tracks or droppings were found

but we were certain that that spot is where the animal had been possibly

feeding. Afterwards I consulted another friend of mine who grew up in Sicamous

and he immediatly told me that it had to be a Sasquatch as he had found numerous

tracks and had heard several eyewitness acounts while growing up in the area.

*What type of Occurrence did you have? = Physical Sighting

*Please tell us what happened (as much detail as you can remember) = I feel

kind of strange doing this; but I have something that may be of interest to your

organization.

I was driving on the Forestry Trunk Road on April 7 2005, near the Brown Creek

public campground when I spied something in the ditch. At first I thought it was

a bear, but soon the animal sttod up on two legs ran walked across the road in

front of my vehicle. The creature was immense; towering over my Landcruiser and

with the rack on top the Landcruiser must be near six an a half feet; I know

it's taller than I am. The....Bigfoot?; had reddish brown hair (fur?) and

covered the width of the road in 2 or 3 steps. I tried to get my digital camera

out, but the animal was gone before I could. I remember reaching the highway;

and noticed that I was shaking badly even though I wasn't frightened that much.

I had to stop in the parking lot of the motel in Nordegg to calm down. If I had

to make a 'guesstimate' on the animal's height I would say well over nine feet

tall; it must weigh near a ton; it was huge!

I must say that I'm not a believer when it comes to Bigfoot; The Loch Ness

Monster; UFOs and the like. I have tried to explain this to myself rationaly,

going through all the animals that I know of, even wondering if it could have

been a person in an ape costume. None of these come close. I think that I saw a

Bigfoot, even though I always though that you folks who look for them are kind

of crazy!

*Closest Town/ Road = Nordegg or Robb; depending on which way you are going

*What type of Occurrence did you have? = Physical Sighting

*Please tell us what happened (as much detail as you can remember) = We were

driving on the highway towards banff.

We had just passed an overpass about 2 km outside of banff when my wife wife

yelled 'oh my god look at that thing' I thought she was pointing at a bear. When

i turned to look i saw a large hairy thing walking on two legs, it had just

crossed the highway and was walking up a hill in the ditch. Then it was gone

into the forest, we didnt stop to check it out, we just kept driving towards

banff. It was really tall much taller than me and i am 6 foot 1 inch tall. It

was covered in reddish brown hair and walked very fast, but it didnt run at all.

We only saw it for no more than 10 seconds, it didnt look at at us but just kept

walking. It was around 25 meters in front of our car.

*Closest Town/ Road = Banff

*Please tell us what happened (as much detail as you can remember) = I feel

kind of weird telling this, so please bear with me if I sound stupid. About 2

years ago, some friends and I were camping in the north western alberta woods.

We had walked down to check out an old coal mine and were about half way back to

the main trail when we realized we were being followed by something. I thought

it could be a cougar and my friends thought that it was a bear. Whatever was

following us was showing genuine stalking behavior; it would stop whenever we

would stop. If we ran for ten or twelve steps; it would do the same and stop

when we stopped. This had all of us quite concerned, we finally did make it back

to the main trail and our stalker broke off following us.

We were walking towards my friend's truck, which we had parked on an old rail

bed. Suddenly a bloodcurdling scream came from the wood, then right after that

came a gutteral roar. I must confess that I almost wet myself, whatever it was

that made that roar was quite close to where we were standing. We jumped in the

truck and got the hell out of there.

*Closest Town/ Road = Nordegg

*Province/State = alberta

*Date = June or July 2003

*Weather Conditions (if remembered) = sunny and clear

*Is there anything else that you can remember? = I didn't know what made the

sounds until a friend of mine suggested that it could have been a sasquatch. I

was not at all pleased when he said this.

I believe that it was the Sasquatch that was following us through the forest and

that it took and that when we reached the main trail it just took another route

so we could not hear it but it still followed us to where we were parked.

*What type of Occurrence did you have? = Vocalizations Heard, Other

*Please tell us what happened (as much detail as you can remember) = We

decided to go bush camping as usual along the forestry trunk road just before

corkscrew mountain (after the Town of Caroline) on the banks of the clearwater

river.

This time there was a group of us and we set up right along on the bank of the

Clearwater river typically there were no other people around us for several

miles and so we enjoyed the privacy and remoteness of this location but last

year we had a very un-nerving experience and we are not sure what to think of

it.

we arrived and set up camp and built up a campfire we then settled in around the

campfire as it got dark.

after awhile we all had the distinct impression of being watched and we could

hear the breaking of twigs and stomping of footsteps of something heavy circling

our camp this continued for quite some time until we decided to walk around in

groups and try to figure out what it might be, so armed with sidearms we set out

to find out what was creating the noises and as we approached the area which

seemed to be the location of the footsteps we were overcome by a nauseating

stench of animal/urine and feces it almost made us throw up. My friend and I

thought at first it might be a bear but both of us have hunted bear before and

they have never made a weird smell like this one so it left us really unsure as

to what it could be, we made it back to our camp but the smell seemed to be all

around us.

After a while as we built the fire higher and made noises to frighten off what

ever it was, the noises and sounds stopped and the stench faded. But the

wierdness of the sounds and the threatfulness of the footsteps left us freaked

out and wanting to move... which we did the very next morning we moved a few

kilometres up the road to seven mile where we enjoyed our weekend undisturbed.

This is my first time with a weird unexplainable expereince such as this but

after thinking about it I'm certain that it may have been a Sasquatch that

hassled us that night.

place to settle down for a bit.My best friend was down the creek when he called

to us to come quickly. My dad and I ran down to see what he had found, when we

got there we found a bunch of really big footprints, but they weren't boot prints

or anything, they were giant bare footprints. From my best recollection they were

probably 15 to 16 inches or so long.My dad got kinda jumpy and said that we

should go down the creek the other way,we just followed him because it's what he

said we should do.
