Dease Lake

Date: Summer 1969

Occurrence: A young couple spotted a Sasquatch as it walked across the highway, fifteen kilometers [15km] outside of Dease Lake. At the closest, they estimated their distance from the creature to be seventy-five to one hundred yards [75 – 100 yds.]. They estimated the creature’s height to be between six & a half to seven feet [6.5 – 7’]. The creature was black in color. This sighting happened around ten o’clock at night [10:00pm], just as the light was starting to fade. What amazed them the most was that it only took the creature three [3] steps to cross the two [2] lane highway. They could not tell the gender of the creature. Not once during the sighting did the creature look in their direction, it just kept looking in one direction and was soon out of sight. The entire encounter lasted no more that five to ten seconds [5 – 10 sec.].

Witnesses: Michael & Patty Long.
