Northern Alberta

Date: 1963

Occurrence: A group of campers heard odd sounding vocalizations coming from a wooded ravine that was located near their campsite. The vocalizations started off sounding like a baby crying, and then rose to a shrill scream that lasted for 25 – 30 seconds. Then the crying sound started again & turned into a guttural roar, that eventually descended into low menacing growls. One of the campers fired a rifle into the air & the maker of the sounds could be heard moving through the brush, away from the camper’s location.

Witnesses: John Grimes & party.
