Buller Mountain
Date: 1929
Occurrence: A “Wildman” was spotted by a man on horseback. The man watched the creature through a pair of field glasses as it ascended the lower part of the mountain. The creature soon moved out of the visual range of the field glasses & the man lost track of where it had gone. The only surviving physical description is that the creature was black in color, very tall, & walked with “a hunched-over” posture.
Witness: Mr. Von Hollen.
