Special Ed and his Harem of Delusionals

The world of Bigfoot is getting crazier everyday. Asinine would be closer to the mark actually.

Recently Matt Johnson declared that a portal opened up at his uber secret location somewhere between fat bastard raccoons and diabetic squirrels, or more commonly known as SOHA.
Not a shred of evidence has been shown by Johnson to indicate that any of his claims are true. Talks of cloaking, mindspeak and disabling a portal with a mere flashlight is best left for late night stories to tell the kidlets around a campfire. It's not the stuff for serious adults interested in the subject of Bigfoot.
Show me some compelling evidence and I may change my mind.

This brings me to Ed Waterman. Ed's stories, photos and theories are more outlandish than Matt Johnson's or any other woo peddler out there in Bigfootland. Anyone declaring that Bigfoot has supernatural powers is full of shit, in my opinion. Big steaming piles of grade a horse shit.

These people have it made and there is no shortage of former turnip truck riders willing to believe these con artists. The crazier the story, the more people will believe it. Why? The rationale goes "who would make that up?" A fucking liar, that's who.

Next to Matt Johnson, Ed Waterman is a huge pet peeve of mine. He claims to be a great photographer but many of his photos are mediocre at best. I've seen better. Hell, I've taken better.

Let's get to the meat and potatoes of this blog post. Recently a photo surfaced showing a clear side shot of what appears to be a Bigfoot. Many opinions were passed around and until very recently, I wasn't sure if a unanimous decision had been reached. I shrugged off the photo until this evening when certain things were brought to my attention by a friend.

Here is the photo in question.

I was quite sure that this photo made the rounds a year or so ago. Photos and videos usually cycle through the community as new people arrive and it's to be expected.

I could forgive a new person for not knowing where this photo came from but I don't think I would be inclined to excuse Special Ed. You may ask yourself why I'm hard on Ed. My answer would be "because he is full of shit". Ed makes it up as he goes along. He just wings it and the gullible rubes gobble it up like candy.

When presented with the photo, here is what Waterman had to say.

Obviously Ed Waterman has no clue about the photo, who took it, or where it came from. I think Ed saw an opportunity to prop himself up with more steaming piles of shit, and he sure doesn't disappoint.

If he knew nothing about the photo, why make up all these things? Why invoke all this woo bullshit without so much as a shred of evidence to back up the claim?

He could have said he knew nothing about the photo but he didn't do that. It is for that very reason that I feel comfortable saying Ed Waterman is a hoaxing, lying assclown. He fabricated every word of his long winded story.

Unlike Ed, we had our suspicions of who owned the photo. It was just a matter of finding the "Bigfoot" in the exact pose. After a short search, Bruce Kelley was able to find the video in which the screenshot was taken from.

Well, would you look at that. A Mark Anders fake ass Bigfoot. Most of us already knew this but now we have the proof.

Here is the video.

Be careful who you believe and what you believe. There are too many charlatans in the land of Bigfoot and they will make your money disappear faster than you can say "What the fuck?"

Habituating Bigfoot

There is a popular practice among quite a few researchers who wish to try and lure Bigfoot closer to them. It's known as habituating or gifting. This practice involves leaving various types of human processed food items, as well as fruits and vegetables.

So far this method of trying to attract a Bigfoot has been widely accepted in the community but I think we need to reevaluate what we are doing.

Is there any evidence to suggest this is a better way of researching than other means? In my opinion, no, there is not. Some people prefer to utilize trail cameras, some like to hike for hours, searching for structures, prints and other forms of possible evidence that may lead to a Bigfoot sighting. Others prefer to sit quietly in one location and study the surrounding area for edible plants, mushrooms and berries. I think all of those are acceptable because those methods have no direct impact on wildlife.

I won't bring up any names here but I recall having a heated debate with a researcher who uses gifting as a way to try to obtain evidence, such as saliva or hair. To the credit of the individual, she admitted that no hair or saliva has been gathered through the gifting of food, if I remember the conversation correctly.

She did, however, feel it was okay to leave out pies and fruit because her opinion was that Bigfoot was taking these, yet there was no evidence to support the notion.
There is another person who travels to the same location repeatedly and he leaves all sorts of food gifts. Some may be nutritionally valuable but most food stuff left is processed junk food, wrapped or contained in plastic.

I know I am not alone in disagreeing with habituation using food but I think we are the minority, albeit a vocal minority. I say this because I don't come across very many people talking negatively about this serious issue.

I have been told that I am over reacting to this because it isn't harming anyone. Obviously the people that said this to me have not really thought out the potential problems of gifting Bigfoot.

Since we have no evidence or proof of Bigfoot taking food, we should rightfully assume that forest animals are taking the food that is left out. I have never seen any food left in hard to reach or strategic locations. For the most part, the food is left on the ground or close to ground level. Other food is left on trees or on branches.

Researchers and enthusiasts need to wake up to the fact that feeding wildlife is wrong, and it is illegal. Leaving food out will make animals less wary of human interactions and the animals will become dependent on hand outs.

There are other problems with habituating. Small animals such as racoons, squirrels and birds can ingest plastics from wrappers and this can cause serious injury and even death. Many animals have had their head caught in jars while trying to get every last drop of processed goodness.

The biggest problem with habituation is that this can lead to a person or group of people being injured, mauled or killed by a bear. There are signs everywhere in campgrounds informing people to not feed the wildlife. Signs are posted in parks and on picnic tables. The signs are at trail heads and pathways. The signs are there for reasons...very good reasons.

Researchers employing this method of research not only risk the lives and well being of wildlife, they endanger their own lives and the lives of people under their care or in their vicinity.

As Bigfoot researchers and enthusiasts, we must become more responsible and respectful of nature and its inhabitants.

Seek Thermal Review

The following review is based on my personal experiences with the Seek thermal camera. I am not an expert with thermal imaging devices and this is my first experience with a thermal camera.

I think it would be safe to say that any Bigfoot enthusiast would welcome a thermal camera as part of their gear. Some people in the community have access to, or own, a high end FLIR thermal camera. Many of us simply don't have the budget for such a device but now we have an alternative.

The Seek thermal camera was recently released for sale and the demand appears to be very high for this device. Seek initially had some delays but I think they are finally getting caught up on back orders. There still remain a couple of issues with the Apple version of the camera, mainly due to the app being accepted in the Apple app store. Seek assures it's iOS customers that the cameras will ship soon. I have an Android device so my wait time was only about three weeks. When the camera shipped, it only took ONE day to get to Canada.

The camera comes in a good sturdy box and shows a bit of information on the camera.

Included with the camera is a hard plastic carrying case and key ring.

Before using the camera, the Seek app needs to be downloaded from the playstore. Once the app is installed, just plug the camera in to the micro USB port. The app will prompt you to accept the device. After that, use is very straight forward.

The Seek thermal camera comes with different functions and nine colour palettes. I like pictures, so I am going to post a lot of them you so get a good idea of what the functions are.

Enabling this function will give you a fairly accurate temperature reading.

Hi/Lo displays a low temperature and high temperature. This is useful if you want to check for air leaks at home or it could aid in detecting a heat signature of an animal in the brush.

This is where you fine tune the heat detection settings. I'm still playing with this function in order to get the best images possible. You have the option of including a date/time stamp and a watermark of the Seek logo. Date and time are very important when you're out in the field, so I opted to use this.

The slide function is something I really like. This is great for day time use and you get a heat signature. You can slide back and forth to pinpoint the target. Engaging this function is done via the on/off button on the top left of this image. Unfortunately at this time the two images don't match up exactly. I'm hoping Seek can fix that issue. A new product will always need some tweaking.

Once I unboxed the camera, I started snapping photos and my dog was the target. Thankfully he was nice enough to stay still.

"Iron"

"Cool"

"White" Subject shows in white.

"Black" Subject shows in black.

I'll post a few short video clips showing some of the colour palettes and functions of the camera. One thing I immediately realized is that a thermal camera should not be moved around a lot, like you would with a camcorder. I realized this after the fact, so excuse the blurry videos.
The camera is great for a point and hold application.

The video above shows a herd of cattle. Finding any deer was tough due to the plethora of hunters in the area. Distance ranged from about 80 ft. for the closest animal and roughly 300 ft. or more for the furthest animal. Setting is on "White". Temperature outside was approximately 5C.

This video is from the same location with the "Black" setting used.

Once again, same location. This is the "Iron" setting from the colour palette choices. Because it was a bit cool out, I preferred the gray scale, using the "Black" setting. Personally, I found it worked better. As the day warmed up, I used the "White" setting.

This function is good for day time use. As you can see, the cattle don't appear to be a one to one scale between normal video and the thermal video. Video quality seems a bit degraded in the non-thermal side of the window. I use a Galaxy Note3 and the video quality of the phone is much better under normal use. The zoom function of my phone works while using the Seek thermal camera. The Note has a maximum zoom of 4X, so your results may vary.

Video using the Hi/Lo temperature setting. It was warming up but there was about four inches of snow on the ground. Tall grass and stumps were bare. Sunny skies with a few clouds.

Same location using the "Iron" setting.

I didn't record videos or take pictures using all of the colour palettes. These are posted just to give you a basic idea of the camera's abilities.

Overall, I am very happy with this camera. It works great around the house and I have already found a few areas of heat loss that I can address. Mechanics would probably find this to be a valuable tool during diagnostics. The camera can detect water leaks and moisture as well.

As a tool for use in Bigfooting, I would say the camera is okay. It could be helpful if you hear something close by, such as branches snapping etc. The range of the camera is said to be approximately 1,000 ft. but I have not found an animal at that distance yet.

The Seek will never replace a professional grade FLIR, and with a modest price tag of $200, I wouldn't expect it to perform on the same level as a $1,200+ camera.

It's closest competitor is the FLIR One. The FLIR has a price tag of $349 and has a resolution of 80 x 60, for a total of 4800 pixels.

"FLIR has also applied some great technology to help users get the most out of the resolution. Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging, or MSX, makes use of the second camera visible on the FLIR ONE, a visible light camera with a resolution of 640 x 480. MSX uses the visible light image to mine data about surface patterns and edges, then embosses this information into the thermal image. The effect is that the somewhat low thermal resolution is much more intelligible to the eye, giving the impression of a much higher resolution."

Source: Ivy Tools Blog

The FLIR One is only compatible with iphone 5/5S.

Compare that to the Seek's 206 x 156 resolution and 32,136 thermal pixels.

It would be beneficial if Seek could employ similar technology like MSX to sharpen the images. Maybe this will come in firmware updates, if that's possible, or in future generations of Seek thermal cameras.

I don't ever see myself dropping a few thousand on a thermal camera, so the Seek is a perfect addition to my collection to my kit. It's a keeper and the camera performed flawlessly the entire afternoon. I didn't notice an excessive drain ion my phone battery. I used the phone on and off over the period of about three hours and I still had over 50% battery life. Under constant usage, this may change.

Bluff Creek Project Sheds Light on Jacobs Creature

Before I get in to the story, I'll give you a bit of background on the Bluff Creek Trail Camera Project. The following information is from the group's Facebook page.

About

The Bluff Creek Project is an open-source volunteer project initially formed to survey the animal population movements in and around the Bluff Creek Area
Description
The Bluff Creek Project is an open-source volunteer project initially formed to locate the original Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film site. It consists of several project contributors who volunteered their time and gas money to complete the mountains of field work needed to confirm the site's location. They have been researching the area formally on foot since 2009.

Trail camera survey:

The trail camera project was launched in July of 2012, and successfully raised enough money to purchase four high-end trail cameras. They committed all of their personal trail cameras to the project as well, for a total of eight cameras installed at the site. The cameras were installed in late October 2012 on the 45th anniversary of the film. The cameras spent seven months in total down at the film site, capturing the movements of Bluff Creek's inhabitants. They had a few camera failures, but all of the newly purchased cameras performed flawlessly.

If you are on Facebook, you can visit them here: Bluff Creek Project

You might be wondering what this project has to do with the Jacob's creature. Jamie Wayne Schutmutt recently released a couple of trail camera photos and posted them in another Facebook group. I will provide a link at the bottom.

The Jacobs creature is still talked about, even today. A series of photos were taken from a trail camera back in September, 2007. Many people are of the opinion that the photos show a Sasquatch and many people think it's a bear. Hopefully we can shed some more light on the subject thanks to the good folks at the Bluff Creek Project

Here is a photo of the Jacobs creature, taken from the BFRO website.

This photo is the first in the set of three photos, showing two bear cubs. The above photo was captured almost thirty minutes later.

Here is one of the photos from the trail camera project Jamie posted yesterday.

Yes, this is a photo of a bear. The interesting photo is the next one Jamie posted.

Does this posture look familiar? This is the same bear two seconds later and it's stance is almost identical to that of the Jacobs creature. I had a difficult time overlaying the two images to show both animals at the same time so I prepared a few.

As you can see, it's difficult to distinguish between the two subject. I made two short clips for better clarity. One clip shows the Bluff Creek bear overlayed on the Jacobs creature and the other shows The Jacobs creature over the Bluff Creek bear.

Armed with this new photo, I personally think the Jacobs creature is a bear. I thought it was a bear before this but now any doubt has been removed from my mind.

No Bigfoot was found but the group did manage to capture a very informative photo, in my opinion.

These folks work hard on this project and they produce some wonderful photos and videos of wildlife in the Bluff Creek area.

You can see there videos at their channel, Bluff Creek Project and here as well.

If you have a chance, visit them at Coalition for Reason, Science, Sanity in Bigfoot on Facebook. If you would like to donate to their project, contact Steven Streufert or Jamie Wayne Schutmutt at this Facebook page.

The Squatchmaster is Busted

I have long suspected Jeff Patterson, AKA, The Squatchmaster of hoaxing his alleged evidence but hard proof was hard to come by.

Those of you who are familiar with Jeff may have seen his infamous "tree shaker" video that was featured on 'Finding Bigfoot'. That video did not fair well on the program and Jeff was extremely bitter over the situation.

Jeff also had a video where he tried to pass off photos of a Gorilla as a Bigfoot. As usual, when jeff gets caught in something, he is quick to remove the videos.

It's not going to happen this time. Before I get to the video, here are a couple of reminders that Squatchmaster doesn't think Bigfoot exists.

If you have not seen Jeff's video of "Sasquatch Speech". Listen to this, it's worse than Sasquatch Ontario's audio.

Just in case Squatchmaster decides to delete his videos, I took the liberty of grabbing a couple of screen shots.

Here is a couple of more screen shots, just in case Jeff tries to back pedal. At least a few people are calling him out on his bullshit lies.

I would like to give credit where credit is due. Sam Kitchen suggests the audio is of human speech played backwards. I decided to put his assertions to the test.

Well, did you hear that, folks? Clear spoken English! I have no idea where Jeff originally got the audio but it's not really important. The important thing is that the Squatchmaster intentionally altered an audio recording and passed it off as Bigfoot language.

The man is a fraud. It has now been proven that Jeff Patterson is a hoaxer. There is no doubt. No wiggle room this time Jeff. It's time for you to have a garage sale and sell your equipment. Find a new hobby.

Patterson also has one or two paranormal YouTube channels, so we might as well dismiss all of those videos too.

Tim Fasano Invited To Vegas

Well, Mr. Fasano has been invited to Las Vegas by Rick Dyer. Tim explains nothing in the video below but, he does plug his new membership drive. Let's hope this one stays up past the 24 hour mark.

This is what Tim had to say in the description:

The above has been confirmed by Lynk Paul, on Freezer Boy's blog. Mr. Lynk can be a condescending ass most of the time, and this time is no different.
Lynk points out the fact Tim Fasano spelled Derek's name wrong. Gee, that's a nice thing to do to a person who has been invited by the cult....I mean group Lynk is in.

I hate to break this to Lynk Paul but, it's spelled Derek Randles. If a person is going to mention the name of one of the most respected Bigfoot researchers in the community, please have the courtesy to spell his name correctly.

So, Tim has been invited to Las Vegas for the big hoax...I mean Hank reveal. Will Tim get a chance to witness this shin-dig, or will he be left standing in the airport lobby?

It's a well known fact Tim and Dyer don't get along but for some strange reason, these two people still interact with each other. It's an odd relationship to say the least.
IF Tim Fasano really gets to record the event and post the unedited video, what will be shown, if anything?
